Get ready for a festival of dirt on your PC as SteamWorld Dig heads over to Steam


The little game that could - SteamWorld Dig will release on Steam early this December. This 3DS mining adventure game made an exceptional impact on the 3DS community, received numerous accolades from industry media giants such as IGN, and is now taking on the PC platform full Steam ahead!
“We are very proud to officially announce that on December 5 - exactly two weeks from now - SteamWorld Dig will be released on Steam,” beams Image & Form CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson. “This is our first Steam release ever, and we are very excited. This means that PC and Mac gamers now can join the Nintendo 3DS crowd, who have had exclusivity since we launched in August. But this experience will be in HD.“


SteamWorld Dig was hailed one of the best 3DS games ever made by IGN, and the studio behind this pack of dynamite hasn't stopped improving the game for the optimal experience when it releases on PC.

“SteamWorld Dig now plays at 60 frames per second in full HD, and features gamepad support as well as keyboard controls,” notes lead designer Olle HÃ¥kansson. “We have added many nifty features such as achievements, bloom filters and cloud saves, but put our main focus into making the experience feel custom-tailored for the desktop… and it looks and feels marvelous.”
The game will be sold at  $9.99 / £6.99 / €8.99, and according to the official press release fans can expect a special celebratory release sale.
