Razer DeathAdder 2013 Edition Review – Pure Perfection

Upgraded with the world’s first 6400dpi Optical Sensor the Razer DeathAdder 2013 Edition is the perfect mouse for First-Person-Shooters, MOBA, Real-Time-Strategy and any other game that requires high performance.

Design

The Razer DeathAdder 2013 Edition’s design is absolutely superb. It retains every aspect of Razer mice design that optimizes grip and looks undeniably good. Unlike many other mice the placement of the side buttons are perfectly placed in the right position, from grip to button press is just a thumb lift away and doesn’t compromise performance in fast paced gameplay.

This mouse improves on ergonomics with its rubber side grips, which is probably one of my favourite things about the mouse. There’s no way you’ll lose control of the DeathAdder 2013 no matter the size of your hands. With its smooth matte finish, the mouse looks and feels new all the time. There will be no funny fingerprints or smudge marks in sight, unless you know, you were holding it in a hand full of peanut butter.

Functionality

The Razer DeathAdder 2013 Edition functions like a dream. Everything works; everything is in the right place whether you’re using it to game or for everyday use.
It’s light but steady grip design make it perfect for any fast paced gaming. It’s designed to work with any Razer mousemat, and as a result won’t cause you to lose any control or speed. The two side buttons are independently programmable and in perfect range to use on the fly. You can easily swap between sensitivity on-the-fly, knife like a god in Call of Duty or pop that ulti in Dota 2 at just the right time.

The mouse sensor has no drift control, meaning you’ll be able to make those small, precise movements with perfect accuracy when going for a headshot.

Configuration

With the Razer Synapse 2.0 you are able to fine tune this piece of mouse perfection to your absolute needs. Each of the buttons is fully programmable to a keyboard function, mouse function, and mouse sensitivity, launch an application or even control multimedia. The Synapse 2.0 even allows you to create or record your own macros.

With the Synapse 2.0 you are able to set your dpi, sensitivity, acceleration and polling rate. The most impressive feature that comes with this mouse, is that you can calibrate your mouse to the surface you’re using. The software gives you a drop down menu to choose one of the Razer mats or the option to add one of your own. From here you can calibrate your liftoff range. You of course have the choice of turning the calibration off. Although I must say I’ve found the mouse’s performance much better with it on. Not that it really needs any improvement.

The Verdict

The Razer DeathAdder 2013 Edition is possible the most perfect mouse I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. It doesn’t give you a numpad of buttons for MMO use, but is perfect for everything else. It handles superbly and looks even better. Whether you’re gaming or just surfing the net, you’ll be doing it in style.
