Dota 2 International prize pool hits $2.6 million and unlocks new bonus


The sixth stretch goal for sales of The Compendium has been reached, putting The International’s prize pool over $2.6 million and unlocking a new bonus.

The International Interactive Compendium allows gamers to predict winners, vote on awards and compete with their friends. Owners of the Compendium also win special prizes while supporting their favourite teams. It is available for purchase on the Dota 2 store for $9.99, is tradable and comes with a Smeevil courier.

The sixth and second last stretch goal has been reached and unlocked a new Immortal item, at the time of writing this post the prize pool stands at $2,702,085. How does this all work? Well, for every sale of The Compendium from a base prize pool of $1.6 million, Valve adds $2.50.

The International Dota 2 tournament finals will be held in Seattle from 7 – 11 August this year.
